Tips for train travel

Buy early

High-speed train trips fill up quickly in busy periods; buy your ticket as soon as your date is set.

Arrive early

There is a security check before boarding at high-speed train stations; be at the station before departure.

Choose the right station

In Istanbul, high-speed trains depart from different stations such as Söğütlüçeşme, Pendik and Halkalı; check the station on your ticket.

Cheap train tickets

High-speed train (YHT) operations in Turkey started in 2009 with the Ankara–Eskişehir line, followed by the Ankara–Konya (2011), Eskişehir–Konya (2013), and Ankara–Istanbul and Konya–Istanbul (2014) lines. The Konya–Karaman high-speed line opened in 2022, and the Ankara–Sivas high-speed line in 2023.

While construction of the Ankara–Izmir high-speed line continues, the high-speed train is very convenient for our customers who want to travel especially on the Istanbul–Eskişehir–Ankara, Eskişehir–Konya, Ankara–Konya and Ankara–Sivas routes.
